A conference on workplace bullying is being held in Calgary, Alberta, August 25. There will be a stream in the afternoon on incivility and bullying in academia chaired by Loraleigh Keashly from Wayne State and Sherri Tanchak from the Universty of Calgary. Morning speakers include Kip Williams and Janine D'Anniballe. A panel discussion of international experts from France, Australia, Norway, and Canada will discuss impact and strategies.
This conference is embedded in a summer school for therapists who treat targets of workplace bullying being held at Mount Royal University August 24-27.
Both of these initiatives represent world firsts with their focus on understanding the impact, neurobiology and social psychology behind these experiences. The school if the first to provide training on the unique treatment aspects of this population.
